Carm Santaniello - Rhythm Guitar
Carm, a West Springfield native, is a relative newcomer as a musician and performer. An attorney by profession, Carm always wanted to learn to play guitar and join an oldies band. In 2001, his desired to become a musician intensified after he hired the cast of Broadway's Beatlemania.to perform a fundraising concert for West Springfield UNICO, of which Carm is the current president. Carm was so impressed and inspired by the musical genius of Beatlemania performers Carlo Catamessa and Jimmy Filgate that he eventually bought a guitar and began taking lessons. Encouraged by his wife and five children, he immersed himself in learning to play. On more than one occasion Carm and Carlo could be heard playing their guitars in Carm's law office during lunch. Carm has been taking formal lessons from Jim Filgate for the past five years. Before joining Off the Record, Carm was a member of City View, another Western Mass oldies band. He is thankful for the opportunity to perform with Off the Record's skilled musicians from whom he continues to learn many things with each practice and performance. Carm's favorite songs consist of the more simple tunes from the early to mid 1960's.
